Volkswagen ThinkBlue Beetle

Creative Direction

To promote the Volkswagen ThinkBlue philosophy, we recreated the iconic Volkswagen Beetle out of 5500 units of junk and scrap. While this unique Think Blue Beetle embodied the Think Blue mantra of efficient use of resources and recycling, it is also an art piece that proves beauty can be found even in the trash.  It was exhibited at three key locations across India. 

 

Becoming a major talking point all over India, the Think Blue Beetle made the headlines across 4 TV news channels, 11 newspapers, 48 websites and 7 magazines, and a sensation on Facebook. It garnered a cumulative ad value estimated at Rs. 28,51,473. Thus giving Indians an evocative example of the joys of recycling and smart usage of resources—principles central to Volkswagen's Think Blue philosophy.

On this project, I collaborated with the Mudra Max team and the artist, Haribabu Natesan.
