To communicate the chilling long-term impact of plastic trash on the planet, we created a timeless masterpiece. Or rather the disaster piece. Unfortunately.
A bag of single-use plastic will take about 450 years to decompose. Chances are that our greatest works of art will disappear long before the single-use plastic we discard carelessly does. To highlight this in a way that cannot be ignored, we recreated Edward Munch’s Scream using single-use plastic bags.
This 12 ft x 10 ft art installation was unveiled at STAR TED TALKS INDIA in collaboration with Nat Geo India where responsible plastic use was the theme.
100s of visitors registered for the national anti-plastic pledge at the event.
The message was so piercing that it captured global attention and was echoed by Leonardo DiCaprio, TED Talk CEO Chris Anderson and Shah Rukh Khan. Disney Star called for a ban of the usage of single-use plastic across their office in India.
The installation is currently displayed at the lobby of the Disney Star India Headquarters in Mumbai.
