L&T Insurance - Likhke doge kya
How do visually impaired school children write their exams? They rely on volunteers to write their answers for them. Approximately 1500 visually challenged students take exams every year, but volunteers are scarce.
'Likh ke doge kya' is a joint initiative between L&T Insurance and the National Association for the Blind to drum up volunteers for this worthy cause.
Instead of distributing forms and requesting employees to volunteer, we organised an event with just one simple requirement: write your name and win. But when they got ready to take part in this seemingly simple contest, the lights were switched off plunging the room into total darkness. For a few moments everyone in the room experienced exactly what visually challenged students go through in the exam hall. A stark audio visual presentation drove home the message and urged employees to do their bit.
Needless to say, over 90% of the attendees volunteered their time to help the less fortunate secure their future.
